ELIDA ALMEIDA (Artist Biography, Lyrics and Albums)

Elida Almeida is a Cape Verdean singer born February 15, 1993 in the city of Pedra Badejo, on the island of Santiago. She was the winner of the Prix Découvertes RFI in 2015.

She refined her musical culture by offering a program on Maio's local radio, where she grew up after her father's death, supporting her mother, a street vendor. Tenacious, fierce supporter of the right to education, Elida left the rural world to compose loving songs and concerned. From the outset, its freshness and warm voice pleased - one of his first works (Nta Konsigui) immediately appeared in the credits of the famous Portuguese soap opera A Unica Mulher. If there is a "cradle of gold", it was not given at birth: Elida Almeida weaves it with gracious obstinacy.

Elida Almeida has made her mark on world music scenes in Europe, Africa and North America.
